Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks an Accountant III Supervisor in the Office of the Controller to lead the AFM-Subsystems Unit. You will oversee funding tracking and reporting from federal, state, and local sources, and help shape accounting policies.

This role requires strong experience in accounts payable, financial documentation review, and preparing financial statements; hybrid work with onsite reporting in Raleigh.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 18 accounting credits.
• Minimum four years of professional accounting or auditing experience.
• Experience with government or public-sector financial reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the AFM-Subsystems Unit within DHHS Office of the Controller.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies for funding from federal, state and local sources.
• Coordinate data exchange with NCFS and other DHHS systems for payments and reimbursements.
