A leading energy consultancy seeks an experienced Substation Protection Subject Matter Expert in Charlotte, NC, for a long-term contract. Qualifications

• 15+ years of utility experience in protection & controls.
• Strong knowledge of NERC PRC/CIP/FAC standards required.
• Experience with relay coordination and short-circuit analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection settings for transmission line, transformer, and capacitor protection schemes.
• Perform coordination studies and QA of relay settings.
• Troubleshoot protection issues and respond to internal requests.

Skills

Utility experience in protection & controls

Knowledge of NERC PRC/CIP/FAC standards

Relay coordination and short-circuit analysis

Familiarity with electromechanical and microprocessor relays

Experience with Aspen OneLiner

Experience with Aspen Relay Database

Experience with CymTCC

Experience with SEL AcSELerator
