Job summary

Hydrogen Group is seeking a Principal Substation Engineer to lead high-voltage substation projects from concept through commissioning. The role is a 12-month contract that can be performed remotely with travel required and periodic reporting to Juno Beach, Florida.

The successful candidate will provide senior technical and project engineering oversight across complex substations, coordinating internal teams, external Engineers of Record, and transmission stakeholders to ensure design integrity

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in high-voltage substation design/engineering.
Experience in project engineering and/or project management within transmission, utilities or power infrastructure.
Knowledge of IEEE and NESC codes and standards.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams and stakeholders.
PE license and PMP certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead or support high-voltage substation projects through development, construction and commissioning.
Coordinate with external Engineers of Record and engineering consultants.
Ensure designs comply with IEEE, NESC, ASCE and interconnection standards.
Manage schedules, budgets, resources, risks and changes.
Provide technical oversight during design, construction and commissioning.
Report progress to internal and external stakeholders.
