Job summary

Ampirical is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to lead engineering, design, and specifications for high voltage EPC projects. You will ensure adherence to QA/QC guidelines and coordinate with peers, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver on schedule and to quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in electrical design for utilities or energy sectors, 2+ years in project leadership, and hands-on experience with ETAP, WinIGS, and IEEE 88/998.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in engineering/design of electrical systems within Utilities or Energy Industries.
• 2+ years of experience in managing projects and leading substation projects.
• Experience with ETAP, WinIGS, IEEE 88/998.

Responsibilities

• Grows and manages relationships with alliance clients and communicates with clients and 3rd parties.
• Performs detailed design of high to EHV substations including diagrams, layouts, equipment specs, and cost estimates.
• Conducts project walk-downs, defines scope, and leads design package reviews and construction support.
• Manages proposals, bid preparation, schedules, and materials lists for substation projects.
• Performs quality reviews of engineering work for internal assets and sub-contractors.
