Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Substation P&C Engineer to lead protection and control design for utility-scale substations across the Northeast. The role supports multi-site projects with an emphasis on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The position offers office-based or hybrid work with flexible remote arrangements for qualified candidates, and travel as needed within the eastern time zone.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years post-education experience in protection and control or electrical design for substations.
• Engineer in Training Certification preferred.
• Experience with design/build of substation projects and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering guidance for multi-site substation projects with emphasis on protection and control.
• Develop and review one-line and wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and substations documentation.
• Support protection relays, SCADA interfaces, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with owners, disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients on plans and specifications.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and visualizations to support design decisions.
• Train and mentor entry-level engineers.
