Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group, a Leidos company, seeks a Substation Owner’s Engineer to lead senior engineering for substations and transmission projects in the Houston area. You will guide design, protection and control, metering, and SCADA efforts from planning through construction, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring safety and standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, PE preferred or able to obtain within 6 months.
• 5+ years of substation engineering experience (345 kV and above).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience from concept through construction and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical leadership and engineering expertise for substation and transmission projects.
• Plan, execute, and oversee complex engineering assignments from planning through construction.
• Evaluate, adapt, and develop engineering solutions to technical challenges.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
• Ensure compliance with design codes and industry standards (OSHA, FERC, NERC, CIP).
• Support cost-benefit analyses and bid evaluations; prepare technical reports.
