Principal Consultant – Power and T&D EPC

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer to lead a small, high-performing team of engineers and designers supporting substation design and protection & control (P&C) projects. This individual will serve as the technical authority and sealing engineer for the group while managing client relationships, ensuring quality delivery, and supporting business growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and oversee a team of engineers, designers, and CAD professionals; manage schedules, workloads, and quality standards.
• Technical Oversight: Act as Engineer of Record for substation design deliverables, including general/physical layouts, protection and control packages, and relay settings.
• Client Interface: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers—maintaining relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and supporting future project opportunities.
• Project Execution: Perform and direct engineering design activities such as system studies, calculations, and reviews of drawings and technical documents.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all deliverables meet applicable standards, design criteria, and regulatory requirements.
• Training & Development: Support the professional growth of junior engineers and provide guidance on technical best practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and cross‑discipline stakeholders to coordinate project delivery and meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
• 5–10 years of relevant substation design experience
• Proficiency in substation physical layout, protection & control design, and commissioning support
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and related design software
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
