Job summary

Our Client in Akron, OH is seeking a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer III for a full-time, on-site role. You will lead design, analysis, and evaluation of substation and transformer systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field; PE preferred.
Several years of progressive experience in substation, transformer, or power system engineering.
Proficiency with power system analysis tools and standards (IEEE, NESC, NEC).
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills; ability to work on complex technical challenges on site.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, analysis, and evaluation of substation and transformer systems to ensure safety, reliability and compliance.
Develop electrical design documents and perform power system and protection studies.
Review technical specifications and provide engineering support for field maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities.
Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to best practices and standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and operations.
