Job summary

Rust Belt Recruiting client is seeking a Substation Engineer to lead medium- to high-voltage power engineering design and serve as the technical anchor on nationwide utility and industrial projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET).
• 5+ years of dedicated power systems engineering experience focused on 12kV to 345kV substation design.
• Active PE license or progress toward PE registration.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, WinIGS, or EasyPower.
• NESC and IEEE knowledge governing medium- and high-voltage design.
• Strong leadership and mentoring能力 for cross-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end physical and electrical design for utility and industrial substations from 12kV to 345kV.
• Deliver single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and station layouts.
• Perform power system calculations including ground grids, short circuits, protection coordination, load flow, and lightning protection.
• Direct multi-discipline teams to produce drawing packages across design milestones.
• Provide technical oversight for protection and control systems, structural layouts, and HV equipment.
• Collaborate with clients and subcontractors to resolve field inquiries and support commissioning.
• Assist with technical proposals and project cost estimation.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage project task assignments.
• Conduct domestic site visits for documentation and commissioning support.
