Position Overview

Kiewit Power Engineers has an immediate opening for a motivated Substation Engineer to join our growing Substation team in the Power Delivery department! As part of this team of highly specialized design professionals, you will support a variety of substation, transmission, and distribution projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV. Your responsibilities will include engineering detailed design and participating in Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC) projects for clients throughout the country.

Location

This position is based in one of our offices in The Woodlands, Dallas-Ft. Worth, or Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Provide project coordination and engineering oversight on assigned substation projects.
• Develop specifications for procurement, installation, and testing of substation equipment.
• Use engineering software to complete tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with project managers, clients, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• B.S. in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum of seven years’ experience in engineering duties.
• Knowledge of standards like NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Legal ability to work in the U.S. for any duration.
• Strong communication skills in English.
