Job summary

K&A Power Group in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Substation Engineering Lead with extensive substation design experience to guide multiple projects, including detailed design and project development. You will manage a team, coordinate with clients, and ensure successful delivery on complex substations and protection/controls packages.

Ideal candidates have a BSEE and 15+ years in substation design, familiarity with PG&E engagements, and a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university.
• 15+ years of professional experience within substation design for electrical utilities.
• Experience bidding, scoping, and executing engineering consulting projects with PG&E.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing design of multiple Electrical Substations projects – including construction drawing packages, engineering calculations, and materials lists.
• Perform QAQC on substation design packages (layout, one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring).
• Support development of engineering resources through overseeing project work.
• Manage engineering team (one-on-ones, timesheets, performance reviews).
• Coordinate project work with project managers, client teams, and engineering management.
