Job summary

K&A Engineering is seeking a Substation Engineer in Pleasanton, CA. The candidate will be responsible for detailed electrical engineering design, development of construction drawing packages for substations, and system protection & control design. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in substation design for electrical utilities are required. Competitive salary range is $90,000–$130,000 per year with excellent benefits including medical insurance, 401K match, paid holidays, and flexible PTO.

Qualifications

• 5+ Years of professional experience within substation design for electrical utilities.
• Experience with power analysis software is ideal (e.g. SKM, Etap, EasyPower, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Detailed design of Electrical Engineering including conceptual design and estimates.
• Create substation construction drawing packages and develop bill of materials.
• Design system protection & control and create relevant construction drawing packages.
