Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking an experienced Substation Engineer to lead the test and commissioning of highly complex transmission and distribution substations. You will develop and implement plans focused on safety and reliability, coordinating with System Test and Protection & Controls Engineering.

Responsibilities include supervising engineers, driving root-cause analysis, and guiding preventive maintenance optimization programs, with a hybrid work setup and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years in utility distribution/transmission engineering.
• Substation testing and/or commissioning experience highly preferred.
• Valid CT/MA/NH driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure complex substation projects are tested and commissioned safely and reliably.
• Develop standards and procedures for substation test and commissioning.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure consistency and teamwork.
• Supervise, coach and develop engineers and staff.
• Manage a preventive maintenance optimization program.
