Job summary

BluePoint Engineering (BPE) is seeking a Substation Civil/Structural Engineer to join our growing team. You will lead substation civil design efforts, develop project plans, construction specs, and provide field support while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires experience in foundation and steel/concrete design, proficiency with the listed software, and the ability to work in an autonomous, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Substation design experience is a plus.
• PE license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Background in steel and concrete structural design, geotechnical engineering, and foundations.
• Experience reviewing substation structure design and related foundations.

Responsibilities

• Provide field support for engineering and technical questions.
• Stay current on emerging technologies.

Substation Civil/Structural Engineer

BluePoint Engineering (BPE) is seeking a talented individual to join our growing team. In this position you will be an integral member of the team with advancement and leadership opportunities.

The Substation Civil Engineer must have the following experience and attributes:

• Ability to provide basic direction to other engineers, designers and drafters as necessary to complete substation civil design including permitting support, and site design.
• Preparation of cost estimates, and engineering proposals.
• Development of substation project plans and construction specifications.
• Provide field support for engineering and technical questions.
• In addition, the successful candidate for this position will be expected to keep current on emerging technologies.
• This position will consist of performing design reviews of civil/structural designs in support of the development of construction packages for substation projects. Candidate will primarily function as a senior engineer leading projects, and the development of junior staff members.

• Experience with RISA 3-D, FAD, SAG10, and LPILE software, required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required.
• Background in design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations.
• Experience reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, and retaining walls.
