State of Hawai‘i is seeking a Substance Abuse Specialist IV to join the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The role involves independent, intensive counseling, education and treatment planning for offenders transitioning back to the community.

The position requires a CSAC certificate, a bachelor’s degree, and two-and-a-half years of specialized experience in substance abuse assessment and counseling. A valid driver's license is required; in-person treatment is provided on-site.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Two and one-half (2-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional work experience involving assessing individuals and developing individualized treatment plans for alcohol and/or drug use intervention; and providing substance abuse counseling and education.
• CSAC certificate required to perform duties; knowledge of substance abuse treatment principles and case management.
• Driver's license required; substitutions allowed as described in the minimum qualifications.

• Conduct educational, treatment and therapeutic classes; develop and modify program policies and procedures.
