Job summary

The Hawaii State Judiciary seeks a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor II (DL) to provide counseling, education, and rehabilitative services to offenders in Honolulu, Oahu. The role requires participation in assessments and development of individualized treatment plans in a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must have a relevant degree, driver’s license, and meet PREA requirements; experience in counseling and ethics, confidentiality, and related regulations is expected.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related counseling field.
• Excess responsible work experience may substitute the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
• Partial Master's degree substitution for General Experience is allowed (minimum 30 semester hours).
• Must possess a current and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional substance abuse counseling, education and rehabilitative services to offenders and participates in multidisciplinary assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Assists in and/or conducts educational classes and performs other duties as required.
