Job summary

Schlumberger Limited in Mobile, AL seeks an Umbilical Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, manufacturing and delivery of subsea umbilicals. You will own technical aspects, lead cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5–7 years in engineering, ideally with subsea experience, to drive successful project outcomes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience; subsea experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of subsea umbilical systems, including cross section, topside and subsea terminations.
• Serve as primary technical contact with clients and suppliers.
• Manage all technical deliverables within budget and schedule.
• Prepare engineering specifications for sub-supplied ancillaries (stiffeners, connectors, buoyancy modules).
• Complete calculations and reports for design strength, seabed stability, corrosion protection, and other requirements.
• Develop manufacturing plan and layout for efficient production of umbilicals.
