Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a strategic Manager of Subcontracts to lead a team of professionals managing complex, high-value subcontracts and supplier agreements. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS, DoD and FAA requirements while driving risk-managed execution across programs.

The position reports to the Director of Supply Chain Excellence and offers locations in East Syracuse, NY or other U.S. offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Mgmt, Industrial Mgmt, Supply Chain Mgmt, Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in Supply Chain, Logistics, Contracts or 7+ years with a Master's.
• Leadership over Subcontracts, Proposals, Buying and Planning teams.
• Experience with government regs (FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, TINA).
• Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Contract negotiation experience for large DoD subcontracts.
• Forecasting tools for MRP, inventory planning.
• Strong financial analysis capabilities.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally (domestic & international).
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to support objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Subcontracts team across programs, proposals, and supply chain initiatives.
• Oversee development, negotiation, and administration of high-value subcontracts and supplier agreements.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Government requirements (FAR/DFARS, DoD) and Saab policies.
• Provide SME guidance on subcontracting and risk evaluation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet cost, schedule, quality goals.
• Support strategic supply chain initiatives and policy development.
• Establish templates, tools, and best practices for subcontracting.
• Support audits and government reviews with required documentation.
• Lead workforce planning, hiring, and performance reviews.
