Job summary

PACCAR Inc. at Kenworth R&D Center in Renton, WA seeks a Senior Studio Modeler to transform styling concepts into high‑fidelity studio models.

The role requires extensive clay modeling experience, strong CAD/CMM skills, and collaboration with Industrial Design and Engineering teams. The candidate will fabricate models, read engineering drawings, and manage multiple assignments with a focus on quality and presentation through to verification models.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of clay modeling experience.
• Automotive, transportation, or product design studio experience required; heavy truck experience preferred.
• Experience with 3D scanning/CMM operation and CAD programs.
• Creative, motivated team player with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models from foam core to final studio model.
• Read engineering prints and fabricate armatures accurately.
• Master clay modeling techniques.
• Set up exterior and interior model stages.
• Record points and sections from models and share data with engineering.
• Present models from mock-ups to executive level properties.
• Adapt models quickly to revisions from Product Planning and Engineering.
• Create high-quality models from approved styling themes.
• Work with Industrial Design and Engineering to realize design intent.
• Experience mold making, fiberglass lay-up, and paint prep.
• Use CAD/CMM tools and shop equipment.
• Collaborate with coworkers; proactive and industrious.
