Job summary

PACCAR's Kenworth R&D Center in Renton, WA seeks a Senior Studio Modeler to craft and refine 3D studio models for design reviews and verification. You will work under Industrial Design oversight with Digital Modelers to ensure models meet packaging and design constraints.

The role requires 5+ years in clay modeling within automotive or transport design, plus experience in CAD, CMM, and mold making. Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential for fast-paced development from concept

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of clay modeling experience.
Automotive/Transportation studio experience required; heavy truck experience preferred.
Experience in 3D scanning/CMM operation.
Experience with CAD programs preferred.
Must be highly creative, motivated and team oriented.

Responsibilities

Develop 3D models and mockups from foam core to high-quality studio model properties.
Read engineering prints and fabricate armatures accurately.
Set up exterior and interior models for presentation and production reviews.
Record points/sections from scale models and relay data to engineering and design teams.
Respond quickly to design and packaging revisions from cross-functional teams.
Lead high-quality model development from styling concepts to verification models.
