Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG is seeking an experienced Structures Superintendent to lead field operations on major heavy civil infrastructure projects in California. You will direct crews, subcontractors, and equipment to deliver safe, on-schedule outcomes, focusing on structures, concrete, earthwork and grading.

You will supervise field teams, ensure adherence to drawings and specs, and collaborate with project managers, engineers and inspectors on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent construction experience.
• 10+ years experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of heavy civil methods, sequencing, and field operations.
• Proven experience managing structural concrete and earthwork operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field construction operations for large-scale heavy civil projects.
• Manage structures, concrete placement, earthwork, grading, excavation and site development.
• Oversee self-performed crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators.
• Plan and coordinate activities to meet milestones, schedules, and production goals.
• Ensure safety and compliance with contract documents, drawings, and specs.
• Provide field leadership for concrete foundations, bridges, walls, and other elements.
• Coordinate mass grading, embankments, soil placement and compaction.
• Review plans and drawings to resolve field issues and guide methods.
• Assist project management with scheduling, planning, and logistics.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure work aligns with project requirements.
• Monitor productivity, equipment utilization, material usage, and overall performance.
