Job summary

Belcan in Windsor Locks, CT seeks a Structures Engineering Sr. Technical Leader to guide a team of 8–12 engineers and drive complex aerospace structural programs. The role emphasizes mentoring, technical leadership, and delivering analyses and substantiation for hardware designs.

You will perform FEA-based assessments, review test plans, manage project scope, and ensure customer satisfaction while coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years of related working experience.
• Experience evaluating stress and life of parts under vibration and fatigue loading.
• Proficiency with FEA tools (ANSYS or Patran/Nastran preferred).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute and achieve project completion.
• Directly interact and grow customer relationships.
• Identify new projects and growth opportunities.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to the engineering team.
• Approve employees weekly time and conduct performance evaluations.
• Manage development of new or revised proposals.
• Define and manage changes of the project work scope.
• Perform contract reviews and resolve issues with the customer.
• Communicate technical requirements to the project team.
• Provide leadership to ensure deliverables and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor progress for time, cost, and quality.
• Enforce contract and project quality plan compliance.
• Ensure project documentation is stored properly.
• Cultivate repeat business through strong customer relationships.
• Perform structural analyses using FEA and post-process results.
• Provide technical recommendations for hardware designs and modeling.
• Review structural test plans and reports.
• Create substantiation documentation of analysis results.
• Support data acquisition/reduction of vibration measurements.
• Support hardware certification testing.
• Review non-conformance/damage reports.
• Interface with customers and suppliers; participate in design reviews.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and project execution.
• Lead Windsor office activities with daily mentorship and collaboration.
