Job summary
BAC (Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc.) is seeking a Principal Engineer, Structural Systems to lead structural integrity, qualification, and continuous improvement of cooling tower and heat rejection products. This role drives NPI, product redesign, testing programs, and global code compliance, serving as a technical resource to engineering, product management, and leadership.
The position covers cold-formed steel, structural steel, connections, panels, frames, supports, and lifting systems,
Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years of structural or mechanical engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design (AISI S100) and load determination (ASCE 7).
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, SAP2000) and numerical analysis.
- Ability to lead NPI and major product enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical expert on cold-formed steel for cooling tower structures and components.
- Lead structural activities for new product development and major product enhancements.
- Define structural design criteria, analysis approaches, and validation plans.
- Review and stamp drawings/calculations/reports to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate structural test programs and evaluate results for improvements.
- Ensure compliance with codes and standards across projects.
