Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Stress and Lifing Analyst to join our team on a 12-month contract in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role focuses on structural analysis of static components under thermal, pressure, and mechanical loads using FEA.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Ansys experience (Workbench, APDL preferred) and a background in gas turbine dynamics, with strong communication to present results to customers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience performing mechanical integrity, stress, and lifing assessments using FEA.
  • 5+ years of ANSYS experience, including Workbench; APDL preferred.
  • Experience with gas turbines and dynamics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical integrity, stress, and lifing assessments using FEA and numerical modeling techniques.
  • Analyze static components including casings, bearing supports, frames, and mounts under complex loading.
  • Identify root causes and develop solutions through detailed analysis.
  • Participate in peer reviews to maintain technical quality and share knowledge.
  • Communicate results and recommendations through reports and presentations to customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methods across the engineering community.
  • Mentor junior analysts and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
