Job summary

Maverick Group US is seeking a senior, hands-on project manager to take ownership of major structural steel projects from kickoff to closeout in Jackson, MS. You will lead a PM team and raise performance while coordinating with engineers, erectors, and fabricators.

This role focuses on above-ground structural steel, with some travel to job sites and GC meetings. A strong background in steel fabrication and project lifecycle management is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have structural steel project management experience.
• Ability to read and interpret structural design and contract drawings.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle: subcontractor buyout, detailing, engineering, erection, shop coordination, RFIs, and approvals.
• Strong cost management, invoicing, and cost projection skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, esp. Excel; knowledge of Bluebeam is a plus.
• Familiarity with project management platforms.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural steel projects from kickoff to closeout, including budget, schedule, and client communications.
• Coordinate buyout with detailers, engineers, erectors, and vendors.
• Handle RFIs, drawings approvals, and submittals.
• Develop and maintain shop and project schedules; coordinate with fabrication shop.
• Own project financials: budgets, invoicing, and cost projections.
• Communicate regularly with GC's, customers, engineers, and internal teams.
• Attend project meetings and travel to job sites and GC meetings as required.
