Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Structural Steel Inspector to inspect structural steel members and welded fabrications on MTA/NYCT projects. This role requires experience with NDT, welding inspection, and reading engineering drawings.

The candidate should hold AWS Welding Inspector certification and ASNT Level II or III, with at least five years in structural steel inspections, and possess knowledge of applicable steel industry standards.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of experience in structural steel inspections, associated inspections, or metallurgical inspections.
Current AWS Welding Inspector certification.
Current ASNT Level II or III certification, or applicable NDT certification, as required.
Working knowledge of non-destructive testing techniques for steel.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and construction contract documents.

Responsibilities

Inspect structural steel members and welded steel fabrications.
Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications provided by the Authority.
Perform or witness inspections using NDT methods such as radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid dye penetrant testing.
Verify compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Inspect other steel materials as assigned.
Prepare inspection reports and support acceptance or rejection recommendations.
