Job summary

Geiger & Peters is seeking a motivated Engineer to support structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from design through project completion. You will provide engineering support, develop solutions, coordinate connection design, and review documentation to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.

The role involves collaboration with project managers, detailers, fabrication personnel, and quality control teams, along with maintaining accurate calculations and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain.
• Minimum 10 years structural engineering experience; internship considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and engineering requirements.
• Perform structural analysis, calculations, and connection design.
• Coordinate with PMs, detailers, fabrication, and QC teams.
• Review shop/erection drawings and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
• Resolve design conflicts, RFIs, and technical challenges.
• Communicate with customers, architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Maintain calculations, reports, and project documentation.
• Ensure activities comply with standards and project requirements.
• Support process improvements and best practices.
• Participate in training and professional development.
