Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Structural with 8–12 years of water resources experience to lead diverse civil infrastructure projects including dams, hydropower, fish passage and flood control across the U.S. and Canada.

The role requires a PE and SE license (California preferred) and hands-on experience with advanced FEA tools such as ABAQUS or ANSYS/LS-DYNA, plus strong communication and project-management skills; travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer with PM experience preferred.
• PE & SE required; California PE and NCEES registration preferred.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery projects, hydropower, dams, and water conveyance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply advanced structural design techniques and criteria.
• Develop FEA models and perform linear and non-linear analysis; present results to clients.
• Manage projects: deliverables, team, scope changes, communication plans, monitor work.
• Support planning, design and construction for projects.
• Collect and analyze field data and existing conditions for design criteria.
• Mentor engineering staff and travel up to 15% to project sites.
