Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer in Chicago, IL to lead technical design and project delivery for a diverse portfolio including data centers, healthcare, and education facilities. You will mentor engineers, manage staffing, and ensure quality from concept through construction.

You will oversee a team of engineers and designers, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and drive project success while maintaining client relationships and upholding Stantec standards.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 10+ years related industry experience.
• Registered Structural Engineer (SE) license or other professional license or certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team for structural analysis, design, documentation, and construction administration of building projects; may self-perform on smaller projects.
• Plan and manage technical work and staffing within the group to deliver projects and support client relationships.
• Coordinate with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into design.
• Maintain strong client relations; articulate project and design requirements, progress, and troubleshooting to clients and staff.
• Delegate tasks to project engineers and designers within own discipline as appropriate.
• Mentor employees to advance technical skills, project management, and people skills.
