Bala Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a motivated structural engineer with 5-8 years of experience for our Arlington, VA office.

The role emphasizes client relationship development and cross-disciplinary collaboration across structural work and related projects. The candidate will work on a variety of building types, with responsibilities spanning design, E.O.R., and support for MEP teams, while engaging in business development and research-driven problem solving.

Qualifications

• Structural Engineering or Civil Degree with structural emphasis from an accredited institution.
• Registered EIT with a focus on Structural Engineering; Registered PE preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in structural design of buildings.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Capable of working individually and in a team environment.
• Ability to thrive in collaborative work situations.
• A drive for thorough research and multi-disciplinary curiosities.

Responsibilities

• Design and serve as structural E.O.R. for building designs of new construction, renovations and additions.
• Provide consultations to clients and prospective clients for structural work.
• Support BALA's MEP departments on infrastructure and fit-out projects.
• Adapt to commercial, residential, industrial, institutional and retail sectors.
• Pursue paths within structural engineering that align with BALA’s vision.
