Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers and Architects is seeking a full-time Structural Engineer Practice Leader in Kansas City, MO. You will lead the structural design of buildings, mentor junior staff, and extract data from CAD/REVIT to create drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

Strong communication and collaboration across disciplines are essential. You will work on reinforced concrete, steel, and other systems, travel as needed, and contribute to a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills are required for lead roles and client updates.
• Engineering principles must be understood to lead designs and collaborate with CAD/REVIT teams.
• Experience with plan development, analysis, design calculations and code familiarity is expected.
• Experience with software like Mathcad, RISA, Enercalc, ETABS, SAP2000 for structural design.
• Seismic design experience and design-build exposure are preferred.
• Must be able to travel for business as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of small to medium projects and mentor staff.
• Design and detailing of building structures (concrete, steel, etc.).
• Extract engineering data from CAD/REVIT, develop drawings and specs.
• Coordinate with engineers across disciplines and communicate with clients.
• Produce construction drawings and ensure quality control.
