Job summary

Washington County is hiring an Inspector II/III to perform structural and mechanical inspections for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings in Hillsboro, Oregon. The role covers inspections during construction to ensure code compliance, including residential, electrical and plumbing aspects.

Applicants should have related certifications and an Oregon driver’s license. This is a regular, non-exempt, full-time position with expectations for accurate record-keeping and review of plan

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state structural, mechanical, and residential specialty codes and/or Oregon Electrical/Plumbing codes.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, plans, documents, and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with building permit procedures and code compliance during construction.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and mechanical inspections for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Inspect residential construction aspects throughout the construction phase for code compliance.
