Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, GA, is seeking a Structural Mechanic 4 in GAC Savannah to perform detailed assembly and repair of aircraft structures using blueprints and OEM specs.

You will rivet and install skin panels, frames, and bulkheads, mentor teammates, and ensure conformance to FAA documentation and quality standards.

Requires high school diploma or GED, 6 years of related experience, and proficiency with Solumina and SmarTeam; Q-stamp preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 6 years related structural assembly experience.
• Experience working with Solumina and SmarTeam preferred; Q-stamp preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use skilled expertise to contribute to development of employees and techniques and complete work innovatively.
• Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensure parts/assembly meet requirements.
• Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations and rivet patterns; follow SOPs for adhesives, sealants and solvents.
• Mentor, train, and assist other team members in interpretation of blueprints and orders; develop methods to resolve installation difficulties.
• Maintain logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs) and ensure compliance with FAA paperwork and quality specifications.
• Plan and organize workloads to meet or exceed goal hours; oversee projects and procure required materials and documentation.
