Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking an experienced building inspector to support Licensed Threshold Inspectors on new construction projects in Florida. This role requires hands-on experience inspecting structural systems including reinforced concrete, with emphasis on post-tensioned slabs and beams.

Strong communication and the ability to work with general contractors on site are essential. The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree (or related field) and is a licensed Building Inspector

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• 4+ years of experience performing structural, special, or threshold inspections.
• Familiarity with Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and shop drawings.
• Perform special or threshold inspections.
• Coordinate with general contractor on site to ensure compliance with drawings.
• Prepare clear inspection reports and communicate any deficiencies.
