Job summary

JGM is seeking a Structural Steel FCAW Welder in Coatesville, PA to join our 65,000 SF shop. You will review WPSs and shop drawings, set up FCAW equipment, and weld beams, columns and connections to AWS D1.1 and JGM quality standards.

You’ll perform weld prep, grinding, gouging, and repairs, inspect your welds, and maintain a clean, safe station. You’ll collaborate with fitters, crane operators, foremen, and quality teams to keep production moving on large-scale projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of structural steel welding experience.
• Hands-on FCAW (Flux Core) experience is required.
• Proven work on beams, columns, plates, and heavy assemblies.
• Ability to deliver code-compliant welds to AWS D1.1.
• Vertical and overhead proficiency preferred.
• Fluent in weld symbols, WPSs, and fabrication/shop drawings.
• AWS D1.1 certification preferred.
• AISC fabrication shop experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform FCAW on beams, columns, plates, connections, and heavy assemblies.
• Meet or exceed AWS D1.1 criteria and internal JGM quality benchmarks.
• Review weld symbols, WPSs, and fabrication/shop drawings.
• Execute weld prep, fitting support, grinding, gouging, and repairs as required.
• Operate safely around overhead cranes, fixtures, and heavy steel.
• Collaborate with fitters, machine operators, foremen, and quality teams to keep production moving.
