Job summary

WSP is looking for a Senior Technical Manager - Structural Engineering (Generation) to join the Power & Energy team in Houston, TX. You will lead complex structural projects, oversee design and construction, and mentor mid- to senior-level staff.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, ensuring QA/QC, and coordinating with owners, regulators, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver durable, safe structures. Requires a PE license and 10+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Proficiency with structural engineering principles, design/build, and project management.
• Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Strong knowledge of codes, regulations, and QA/QC processes.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to coordinate subcontractors and lead teams to deliver tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight collecting and analyzing data from sites, blueprints, GIS, and subsurface information.
• Apply structural engineering techniques to improve complex infrastructure projects.
• Perform investigations and inspections to ensure conformance with standards.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates with coordinate with owners and clients.
• Lead design, construction, rehabilitation, and remediation of projects ensuring durability and safety.
• Mentor staff and stay current with latest engineering techniques.
• Collaborate with professionals across disciplines and with regulators and clients.
• Ensure adherence to QA/QC and company policies and procedures.
