Job summary
J&T Business Consulting in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Structural Design Engineer with 7+ years of experience and a Master’s in Structural Engineering to lead design and project teams on diverse buildings. A P.E.
license is required, with expertise in post-tensioned and wood-frame design. You will guide engineering design, QA/QC reviews, and client communications while mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development efforts.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in structural engineering is required.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
- 7+ years of structural design experience across diverse building types.
- Hands-on design experience in concrete, wood, masonry, and steel.
- Strong knowledge of seismic design principles and codes.
Responsibilities
- Engineers design structural solutions for high-profile projects.
- Lead projects and oversee team workflows and project financials.
- Assist with QA/QC design and drawing reviews for technical excellence.
- Develop and maintain key client relationships as a technical liaison.
- Support marketing and business development to grow the local practice.
- Mentor younger engineers in professional development.
- Maintain firm design standards and contribute to AI/automation initiatives.
