Job summary

DES is seeking a Structural Engineering Team Lead to grow our Structural Engineering practice in the Bay Area. You will provide technical leadership, oversee projects, mentor staff, and contribute to business development.

You’ll guide design solutions, manage schedules and budgets, and develop client relationships to expand our project pipeline across building retrofits and new constructions.

Qualifications

• California Structural Engineer license (SE) required.
• 10+ years of increasing responsibility in structural engineering.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors.
• Solid knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and technical direction to Structural Engineers, EITs, and Designers.
• Coordinate workload assignments within the structural team to meet schedules and staffing needs.
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching, training, project oversight, and career development discussions.
• Lead the development of construction documents with accuracy from design through to completion.
• Develop client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and help grow project pipeline.
