Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Staff Structural Engineer for the Sentinel program in Roy, Utah. You will analyze, research and develop structural specifications for metals, composites and non-metals, covering structures, dynamics, loads and fatigue.

A STEM Bachelor's with extensive experience and an active DoD secret clearance is required; 10+ years with ABAQUS/FEMAP/ANSYS, plus NX CAD and Teamcenter are desirable. The role offers robust benefits and relocation potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 12 years of relevant experience; 10 years with Master's; 8 years with PhD.
• 10+ years of static structural analyses and closed-form calculations.
• 10+ years using ABAQUS, FEMAP or ANSYS; experience documenting analyses and presenting results.
• U.S. Citizen able to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, research and develop structural specifications for metals, composites and non-metals.
• Assess damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
• Support Sentinel program with structural analyses, dynamics, fatigue and thermal studies.
