Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers seeks a Structural Engineer to contribute to a wide range of projects, including civic buildings, healthcare facilities, and laboratories. The role covers structural analysis, seismic design, and development of construction documents, with collaboration across disciplines and leadership opportunities.

Experience in high seismic hazard zones and proficiency with leading FEAs and codes will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time work experience as an engineer in a structural consulting organization.
• BS in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis in Structures)
• At least a 3.0 cumulative GPA in Undergraduate coursework
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Transcripts showing completed courses in Structural Analysis, Mechanics of Materials, Concrete, Steel or Wood Design

Responsibilities

• Design gravity, lateral, and foundation systems for new buildings and retrofit projects in high seismic zones.
• Perform structural analysis and seismic design using ETABS, RISA, SAFE, RAM Steel.
• Design main building systems and secondary systems and prepare detailed construction documents.
• Coordinate with BIM, project managers, architects and other disciplines for integrated delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and oversee design engineers in construction administration.
