Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems in Costa Mesa, California is seeking an experienced structural engineer to independently deliver projects from concept through construction completion. You will perform conceptual design, develop construction drawings, coordinate with PM, construction, services and other trades, and ensure compliance with ACCO standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• PE license desirable; must be able to obtain within a short period.
• 3+ years of experience with a Structural Engineering Firm or Seismic Bracing Firm.
• Excellent understanding of engineering and design fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Complete project planning, coordination, and execution with some oversight.
• Independently complete conceptual design through construction drawing development for large complex project or multiple projects simultaneously.
• Engage engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions.
• Coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners.
• Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and troubleshooting.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and project team members.
• Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines.
• Apply ACCO engineering standards and project execution processes.
• Create equipment anchorage, vibration isolation, roof top duct and pipe supports, and PE stamped BOM packages.
• Riser duct and pipe supports; seismic restraint calculations; roof structure verification for equipment replacement.
• Design equipment skids and supplemental steel; develop templates for supports and seismic bracing.
