Job summary

Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for part-time telework in Houston, TX. You will plan and perform structural design and estimates for foundations, concrete, and steel, under supervision, with in-person attendance required three days per week.

The role demands a bachelor’s degree and 8–10 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, plus strong knowledge of codes (ASCE/SEI 7, AISC LRFD, ACI 318, IBC) and EPC practices.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree and 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Past experience with data centers preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of ASCE/SEI 7, AISC LRFD, ACI 318, IBC required.
• Understanding of EPC industry and designing for constructability.
• Career-level professional with full area specialization.
• Seasoned, experienced professional with ability to resolve diverse design issues creatively.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed civil/structural engineering work for a project or staff group.
• Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates civil/structural components and processes per design standards and BSAPs.
• Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis (static/dynamic) and materials engineering.
• Selects appropriate materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry) based on load requirements.
• Produces complex structural deliverables: steel/concrete calculations and material requisitions.
• Coordinates procurement, bid evaluations, and subcontract requisitions; supports project/construction management.
