General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an RPPY Structural Engineer to support Naval Nuclear Power Training Units and the S8G Prototype, applying structural engineering and military specifications to ensure fleet readiness.

The role includes acting as lead on ship alterations, directing budgets, schedules, and interfacing with other engineering disciplines while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining high technical quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Civil, Marine, Materials, or Aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience post graduation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance.

Responsabilités

• Act as the lead engineer on ship alterations to support fleet modernization.
• Lead engineers overseeing all aspects of alterations, including funding approval, site visits, overall technical quality, maintaining schedules, awareness of budgets, and interfacing with other engineering and design disciplines
