Job summary

McKenney's, Inc. is seeking a licensed Senior Structural Engineer to support our mechanical and plumbing operations embedded with project teams. The role emphasizes safe, code‑compliant structural solutions that enable the installation of MEP systems.

The Senior Structural Engineer will design and seal calculations for pump and piping skids, pipe supports, seismic and wind restraints, and coordinate with operations, fabrication, and field personnel to ensure timely project delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or similar.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
7–10 years of structural engineering experience, with emphasis on supports for mechanical and piping systems.

Responsibilities

Design and seal structural calculations for pump skids, piping skids, and mechanical equipment.
Engineer pipe support systems including gravity, lateral, seismic, and thermal aspects.
Design seismic and wind restraint systems for ductwork and equipment.
Perform wind load analysis and design wind restraints for rooftop equipment.
Review delegated design submittals and shop drawings for structural supports and restraints.
Ensure compliance with building codes, seismic requirements, wind criteria, and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, SMACNA, MSS).
Provide timely engineering support to maintain construction schedules and field conditions.
Communicate engineering intent clearly to project managers, superintendents, and fabricators.
