Job summary

KPFF is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in our Louisville office to lead a diverse portfolio of structural projects from concept through construction. You will establish and maintain client relationships and collaborate with engineers and BIM professionals nationwide.

You’ll guide technical direction, manage scope and budgets, and contribute to business growth while pursuing leadership, mentorship, and project success in a flexible, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• PE license required
• SE license preferred
• 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience with leadership of complex projects
• Background in project management with owners, contractors, and other disciplines
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software
• Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC standards
• Collaborative mindset with leadership and business growth focus
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects from concept through construction
• Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and team resources
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor for engineers and BIM professionals
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Oversee engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports
• Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards
• Participate in structural assessments, feasibility studies, and site investigations
• Foster a mentorship-driven culture focused on technical excellence and growth
• Support KPFF’s vision of strong teams, client relationships, and impactful engineering solutions
