KPFF Consulting Engineers in Columbus, OH is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead a diverse portfolio of projects from concept through construction. You will establish and maintain client relationships while collaborating with engineers and BIM professionals across KPFF.

The role offers autonomy to grow in technical leadership, project management, mentorship, or business development. The ideal candidate has a PE license (SE preferred), a Civil/Architectural Engineering degree (Masters

Qualifications

• PE license required; SE license preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering; Masters preferred
• 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience with leadership
• Experience in project management and client interaction
• Proficiency with ETABS, RAM, and RISA 3D
• Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC design standards
• Collaborative mindset with leadership, mentorship, and business growth
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

• Lead structural projects from concept to construction
• Manage scope, schedule, budgets, and team resources
• Serve as technical leader and mentor for engineers and BIM professionals
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams
• Oversee structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports
• Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards
• Participate in structural assessments, feasibility studies, and site investigations
• Help foster a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture focused on technical excellence and long-term growth
• Support KPFF’s vision of building strong teams, exceptional client relationships, and impactful engineering solutions
