Job summary

ZAPATA Group, Inc (ZAPATA) seeks a Senior Structural Engineer IV to lead design for new buildings, seismic upgrades, and facility renovations from either the Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA office.

The role includes producing structural drawings, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with multiple professionals across projects. A PE license is required with DoW/UFC familiarity considered a plus.

Qualifications

• This role requires a PE license and interstate comity eligibility.
• Extensive experience in design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
• Experience with DoW facilities and UFC/UFGS familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for new buildings, seismic upgrades, and renovations.
• Prepare detailed calculation packages and working drawings.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform QA/QC reviews.
• Coordinate with in-house and external professionals.
• Provide technical reports and cost estimates when needed.
