Job summary
GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, seeks a Bridge Engineer for our Chicago O’Hare office. You will design bridges and roadway structures as part of a seasoned team, contributing to challenging projects across Illinois highways.
The role offers a hybrid schedule and opportunities for growth within a respected technical group. Qualified candidates have a civil engineering degree with a structural emphasis, 5+ years in bridge design/inspection, IL PE/SE eligibility, and familiarity with IDOT
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with Structural emphasis; Master's a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years in structural design or inspection of bridges per IDOT/Tollway.
- Bridge inspection experience; IDOT/SE/PE licensing requirements.
- NHI training in safety inspection of bridges is preferred or required.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and preparation of plans, specs and estimates for bridges per IDOT/Tollway rules.
- Collaborate with engineers on structural analysis and design for Illinois highways.
- Review shop drawings; inspect bridges and highway structures.
- Lead design meetings; mentor junior staff.
