Job summary

Ghafari Associates, LLC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead complex projects with limited supervision from the Manager of Structural Engineering. You will produce well-designed construction documents for structural systems and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications include 12–15 years of structural engineering experience, P.E./S.E. preferred, and mastery of program tools like Risa, RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, Revit and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• Professional registration; P.E. or S.E. preferred.
• 12–15 years of related experience in structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope, budget and design approach with leadership or client.
• Lead larger projects, overseeing production, quality, budget and schedule.
• Apply current codes to construction documents and detailing.
• Apply wind and seismic loads and convey forces on drawings.
• Provide innovative design solutions and engineering judgment.
• Coordinate with architectural and MEP disciplines for drawings.
• Maintain project files including calculations and correspondence.
• Communicate scope changes to managers and project leads.
• Mentor less experienced engineers; backcheck others' models.
