Job summary

LHB, Inc. is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our Energy and Industry team in either Duluth or Minneapolis, MN. The role focuses on hybrid work, preparing structural designs, reviewing calculations, and guiding a team of engineers and technicians.

Ideal candidates hold a ABET-accredited Civil/Structural degree with 6 years of experience, PE licensure, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit. Travel is occasional; strong communication and business development skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 6 years of structural engineering experience including concrete and steel design.
• Professional Engineer licensure and ability to become licensed in additional states upon request.
• Familiarity with industry, building, and design codes.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently.

Responsibilities

• Work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Supervise other engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Prepare or assist with proposals, tracking budgets and schedules, and workload forecasting.
• Actively participate in project and department team meetings, both virtual and in-person.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors.
• Direct and review project drafting.
• Perform construction site visits and field observations, review RFIs and submittals.
• Meet client objectives and exceed their expectations.
• Contribute to business development.
• Prepare written technical reports.
